It is my distinct privilege work on behalf of the District 196 community for the last three decades.
It is my distinct privilege to serve on behalf of the District 196 community for the last three decades. I am a parent of District 196 graduates and a longtime resident of Rosemount. My tenure on the School Board has been marked by my unwavering commitment to building upon our reputation of educational excellence and fostering an environment of equity, inclusivity, and transparent communication. Let’s continue our work together!
District 196 is my home.
I am a resident of Rosemount and currently the only School Board member who represents this wonderful community. All three of my children attended and graduated from District 196 schools. I taught middle school students for 22 years, during which I honed the critical skills of patience, active listening, adaptability, and collaboration. As an educator and School Board member, I am fully invested in the future of our children and the betterment of our entire community.
Experience
First elected to the District 196 School Board in 1989, and served in the roles of Chairperson and Treasurer (current)
Served on all School Board committees, and currently appointed as board representative to the following committees: Association of Metropolitan School Districts (AMSD), Continuing Education/Vocational Relicensure, Equity Advisory Council (EAC), Legislative Advisory Council (LAC), Community Collaboration Council (CCC), Curriculum and Instruction Advisory Council (CIAC), Metropolitan Educational Cooperative Service Unit (ECSU), Q Comp Educational Improvement Planning (EIP) Team and Schools for Equity in Education (SEE)
Served on working groups for the Minnesota Department of Education, as well as the board of directors for the Minnesota State High School League, Minnesota State School Boards Association and National School Board Association
Master's degree in education and former middle school educator
